Very Important Info for Our Guests
We are honoured to celebrate our Nikkah at the Nizamiye Mosque and warmly welcome all guests, regardless of faith or background. To ensure that the ceremony proceeds smoothly and respectfully, we kindly ask all guests to take note of the following guidelines.
1. Respect for the Place of Worship
The Nizamiye Mosque is an active place of Islamic worship. All guests are requested to behave respectfully at all times while on the premises, including during arrival, the ceremony, and departure.
2. Dress Code:
Modest attire is required in accordance with mosque etiquette.

Arms and legs should be covered.

A headscarf will be required inside the mosque

Long trousers are required.

Sleeveless tops and shorts are not permitted.

Guests who are not dressed in accordance with these requirements may be denied entry by mosque staff.
3. Shoes
Shoes must be removed before entering the mosque. Shoe storage areas are provided. Guests are advised to wear footwear that is easy to remove.
4. Photography & Recording
Photography and video recording may be restricted in certain areas of the mosque.

Please follow instructions given by mosque officials and the couple’s appointed photographer.

Flash photography during the Nikkah ceremony may not be permitted.

Guests are kindly requested to be mindful and avoid obstructing the ceremony.
5. Conduct During the Ceremony
The Nikkah is a religious marriage contract conducted according to Islamic tradition.

Guests are asked to remain quiet and seated during the ceremony.

Mobile phones should be switched to silent mode.

Movement during the ceremony should be kept to a minimum.
6. Gender-Specific Areas
Certain areas of the mosque may be designated for men and women, in line with mosque practices. Guests are kindly asked to respect these arrangements.
7. Children
With love and understanding, our ceremony will be an adults-only occasion
8. Food, Drink & Smoking

No food or drinks are permitted inside the mosque.

Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited anywhere on mosque premises.
9. Compliance with Venue Rules
All guests must comply with the rules and instructions of the Nizamiye Mosque management and staff at all times. Failure to do so may result in removal from the premises.
10. Liability
Attendance at the ceremony is at the guest’s own risk. The couple and venue will not be held liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained while on the premises, except where required by South African law.
